Blowing kisses to super filly Rachel Alexandra, the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924, four years after women had received the right to vote in America. Her jockey Calvin Borel is the first jockey to win the first two legs of the Triple Crown on two different horses. Mine that Bird placed second and the most important stat is all thirteen horses entered crossed the finish line safely. I'm in two camps when it comes to horse racing, although I love & appreciate the beauty and athletic abilities of the horses far too many of them meet an untimely death. It's a business and all about money, the welfare of the horse is second at best.
On another note, two big thumbs up for the movie "Taken" starring Liam Neeson, he's a combination of Jack Bauer (24) and James Bond. Very enjoyable movie, never a dull moment.
The best laid plans of mice and men......I have all my flowers ready to plant, there's frost in the forecast for tonight and snow this coming Wednesday. Gimme a break......last time I checked it was May 17th.
