Holbeck Ghyll, one of the country hotels featured in the film |
It wasn't until after the movie ended that I googled the two leading actors and discovered that they are British comedians and impersonators. I am enclosing a link to the movie review and please click on the restaurant links within the article. The country inns/hotels look absolutely divine and for the first time since 1990 I have a hankering to return to the UK. I'd love to do the same trip, it's going on my bucket list.
Moey gives "The Trip" two thumbs way up.

Merci Moey.
Hope you manage to see it, some of the restaurant scenes had me drooling!
Just catching up.... I too love cats, but I love ALL animals and could never enjoy eating foie gras knowing how those poor animals are being caged and force fed. Eat vegetables!!!!!
Point taken anon. Believe it or not, while we were eating it I said to my other half that we shouldn't be for that very reason. As I recall, California has a ban in effect as of 2013 that they will no longer be importing foie gras because of the cruelty issue. My one consolation is the goose was already dead. Someone had to eat it. Lame, I know but damn it was good!
No probs Steve. I hope your other half likes it.
