I was contemplating this for a few days..... |

But opted for this instead...... |
Now that I'm thinking more clearly, I got a better sense of what's going on with our Habs last night. There were two different conversations going on at Chez Moey's on Thursday night (we had company) and it was next to impossible to concentrate on the Habs/Pens game. Last night I only had Mr. Moey to cope with and naturally after all these years I've mastered the art of filtering out a lot of it and nodding at the appropriate times. But I digress. I watched a team that I thought played as well as they possibly can and yet still can't bag a win. That has to be frustrating. You won't hear them say during the post game interviews that the reason they keep losing is because the D corps sucks the big one, but they know it and we know it. HNIC pointed out that the in our own end the defense squad resembled patrons stumbling out of a bar on Crescent Street at 3 AM. An apt description. Can Gauthier afford to wait until Spacek and eventually (fingers crossed) Markov make their way back into the lineup? I don't think so. And what about Campoli, are there any plans in place to replace him? Gorges and Gill can only do so much and nobody is capable of getting a first pass out to clear the zone. That's what's hurting them the most.
Believe it or not, I actually mentioned to Mr. Moey that an emergency call to Patrice Brisboise might be in order. Seriously. It couldn't make things worse than they already are and I bet he would do it for a couple of free beers and a hotdog. Something has to happen and soon or the hole they're digging will be so deep that they'll have to swap their hockey helmets for a miner's hat with a halogen light.
