Rocky VII....or Habs versus Flyers the sequel
Are we ready to rumble? We better be. Didn't see the game last night, Mr. Moey and I were invited to friends for dinner. The booze was flowing and the food was delish, but nary a hockey fan to be found. I'm watching snippets of what I recorded as I type this. I checked out my usual sites to get a feel for how the game went. The media and fan contrived goalie controversy is still raging on. Get a life people, I don't have a preference over who's in net, I just prefer winning to losing. People who have a hate on for any player wearing the CH are not true fans, period.
The one downside about the Internet is realizing how many stupid Habs "fans" really do exist, it's mind boggling. I tend to stick to a couple of sites, Mike Boone's "About last night" over at Habsinsideout is a must read for a great, honest recap of the game. I like to hang out at the "Four Habs Fans" site during the game, the comments are extremely witty and insightful, nobody takes themselves too seriously and are intelligent enough to know in the end it's only a game.
Melnick in the afternoon on The Team 990 is also a do not miss for me, Mitch is a bright light in which can be a pretty dark abyss. He knows his hockey and all of his insights are bang on, I don't think I've ever disagreed with one thing he's said. So that's the cream of the crop, the people that keep me sane, which in this city can be a very daunting task. A big shout out to all of them.
So we lost this 3-2, crap crap and more crap. From what I'm seeing, the Flyers are back in true form, a little bit of hockey and a lot of goonery. Looking forward to the rematch tonight, I'm throwing some ribs into the slow cooker this afternoon, we'll open a bottle of wine and Mr. Moey will watch his obligatory two periods of hockey. A bit of bonding time with the other half, hockey is the only thing Mr. Moey can watch and manage to have a conversation at the same time, bless him. Is that a guy thing?
